I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

got approvals for wife and myself today
PD Jan 22 2006.
Infopass on Aug 3rd said everything is good to go.
opened SR no.1 for primary on aug 4th, was told cases were assigned on aug 3
Level 2 cust service said cases pre-adjudicated.
Reply to SR no.1 was standard - wait for 30 days.blah blah.
Congressman inquiry said cases assigned to officer.
opened SR no.2 for dependent on Aug 19.
i think the Aug 19 SR did the trick.

Opening threads and then burying them deep like any other thread does not help us.
Thousands of threads were opened like this and everyday we see new threads.
I strongly recommend
(1) Update your profile with true information
(2) Pledge with honesty
(3) Join a state chapter and make yourself visible and available to IV.
We can go from there
There is no other way to organize 70k or more people where everyone just open threads, discuss and then open new threads and discuss and ..... it goers on
I say this from experience - there are people working day and night for IVs cause - with a lot of dedication - there are free riders and majority of people are sitting on fence - want to do something but not quite sure what/how /why and are lost opening these threads and discussing.
Channelizing your frustration, your energies into positive energies will help us achieve our goals. So please decide if you want to move forward and do something about it - State chapters is the best route for contributing towards IV stuff

I came on extension. I think they are more critical about the companies with whom you are working for. All my friends with extended their visa with no problems. I it is very hard to conclude on this. But scares every one if we keep saying they can not extend their visa.
Be prepared with good documentation and you should be fine.
I don't work with L-1 companies.
I know of this because many of them have h-1b's and want to know how to switch.

I received a confirmation from the Ombudsman's office that they have received my case documents and would let me know when it get's assigned to an immigration specialist.
I have not heard back from them yet... 3 weeks and counting... How long does it take them to followup on the case?

You are wrong. How are the pay stubs link to your future GC job. Employment Letter is listed right there on I-485 form as initial evidence.

I am not entitled more or less, IV can close shop today, I did not come to the USA because there was EB1/2/3 or IV fighting my battles, enjoy your journey. If I am not wrong, it is more to do with a rule interpretation change by USCIS.
Insuppose the most feasible solution for the ones that are really bothered and have a chance is to do a EB2 porting. EB3 is like the slow lane. EB2 also used to be like that but benefited from the change in spillover.
EB3 best chance is to have the Visa Recapture which is already being pursued or have some other legislative fix.
