I guess affected class should make an impact visible enough for people to realize they cant let us down.
Example : keeping all our savings and checking cash in our country banks. This will not provide free money to local banks.
Lets say
500k people pulling out 25k each. Thats a big sum. Its just investing our money in our country bcos we DONT expect GCs!
Also buy airtickets from broker from your home country which will benefit your country getting the sales tax!... so on.
I have nothing against anyone. I am just saying how we can assert our importance.

If I am lucky enough I can make upto 70-80years of my age maximum, considering my age now, I might live another 30-35yrs. Just imagine what life we want, I completely agree what points you mentioned below. But you are forgetting the insidents we read in news media every day. I almost find atleast one incident where people are killed just for money........what if our fate is not good, and we encounter such situation???

My wife and i got emails from USCIS and we checked our status online and it is now CPO. The approval is based on my wife's applicatiion ( EB2 India, Dec 2005). I had two applications one as her dependent and another my own that is EB3 I, Jan 2004.

Yes, but the immigration hearings already happened. People already have a clear indication on what the public wants. Lou Dobbs is still out there reminding them. Honestly, I wish us good luck, but I am not sure.
Ombudsman, you forgot one important point however.
If the Dems do win the house, the speaker will be a Dem. and she will set the agenda to be discussed and voted upon. Also the ranking members on the various comittees will also be Dems. Therefore they will make the decisions such as, when and how to discuss these measures in committee, when and with whom to hold congressional hearings(expert testimony), when to go to conference and which representatives to to go to conference, and so on, these things influence the legislative process as much as votes do.
The bottomline is House Republicans had a fair shot at this and decided against any changes, I can't see how them returning is going to solve a thing. Immigration is one of the few issues that the Upper House and the Pres. can agree with a democratic congress on. Issues such as Soc. Security, healthcare etc will certainly end up in gridlock as the republican strategist Ed Rollins points out.

What about people who were stuck for years in backlog and then got laid off and could not port their priority dates. I know a few who come came to US in 99 and now have a priority date of 2007 with a new employer....It should clearly be based on number of years of stay in US or expereince

What exactly is the point of this rambling debate? Does anybody really thinks he/she can make an EB2 see the point of view of EB3 or vice-a-versa? No amount of legal/moral/philosophical arguments is going to convince the other party and we all know it.
All this debate has done is to bring out the ugliest side of all of us to the surface. There are EB2s claiming every EB2 is by definition superior than EB3 which is insane. And there is an EB3 who is itching to take help of none other than Ron Hira to shot down somebody's GC application as a retribution and couple of people applauding him for the brilliant idea! Really? Do we really thinks this is such a grand idea?
Just accept that everyone's only guiding principle here is self interest and move along. No need to jump through hoops to interpret the immigration law in 101 different ways and no need to call attention to personal suffering and plight. If we do really believe personal suffering should take precedence over everything else on humanitarian grounds then lets all first fight for illegal immigrants since their suffering is much worse than anyone here!
EB3s, go run your campaign and stop trying to appeal to EB2's sense of justice. That will never happen.
EB2s, stop trying to expect EB3s will accept higher EB preference categories should in fact get preference over the lower ones. That will never happen.
The only thing we all can hopefully agree on is, if there is anyone here - doesn't matter EB2 or EB3- who is fiercely debating this but has never contributed to IV and has never participated in any of the previous IV action items in the past that person should just shut up! On the one side you have the EB2. Earning more, and better educated. Clearly more important human beings to IRS and society. On the other we have EB3 Junta trying to get what they think is their right to spillover.
Now I understand all your points and agree with all of them.
Only 1 question :D why is IV not fighting to increase the regular (non spillover) quota for the clearly better category EB2. This is clearly not fair such super humans having to share same numbers as lower categories. Lower categories should go to Bombay where there is one apartment which is still empty.
Or better still get rid of the EB3 category altogether. Problem is solved! :D

Im really not sure if this helps EB3 cases. for example in my case i have a bachelors degree + 10 years expereince and stuck in EB3. I dont think this will help me because I dont have an US degree.

That is correct, but it will help thousands of people who come on F1 visas and then transition in to H1B and have their GC being processed. I think that we need to look at what the U.S wants to get out of all this too and not just our perspectives.

I am waiting.. and few more friends none of us got receipt. our checks got cashed on last Monday.
When do you think USCIS got your papers? (I mean add two days to your lawyers' filing date), and your check got cashed on 11th?
